Amazing bike tour We booked the Klondike bike tour, and Sockeye Cycle did not disappoint. What a fabulous tour! The views were exquisite! The company was very professional from start to finish. We did several tours while on our 7-day cruise, but this was by far our favorite!

Train + Bike = Perfection What an adventure in Skagway! The White Pass Train and Bike Tour was an incredible way to learn the history of the region, get amazing photos and videos on the way up, and experience everything up close on the bike ride down. Gabby was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable about the area as well as the bikes. I was a little nervous about such a long ride, but you truly do spend most of the time going downhill. If you're comfortable with a basic bike that uses handbrakes, you should be just fine. Easy and fun. A must do! We got the combo train/bike excursion in Skagway. It was great!Sockeye got us on a private White Pass and Yukon train car up the mountain. Wow! Beautiful views and great history. One of only 2 narrow gauge railroads still operating on the US. I was initially very concerned about the bike ride down but shouldn’t have been. It’s easy! They meet you at the top of the mountain and drive you in a van over to the starting point. Gear up with jackets, pants, gloves if you need them and take a practice spin on there bike. Solid equipment with wide, treaded tires. And good brakes. Cushy, wide seats!The ride down is easy. Not too steep and only one short uphill which frankly felt good, got my heart rate up a bit. If you can’t make the hill, you can just walk the bike, will only take an extra minute or two.We made 4 stops for pics and some local history. Our guide Clay was very knowledgeable, friendly and patient.The total ride is about 15 miles so it doesn’t take long, about an hour or so. The last five miles are pedaling though local scenery and downtown.Great way to see Skagway. I was worried about the downhill being too steep and about slippery conditions in the rain but I shouldn’t have been. It was an easy trip. Doable for teens through folks in their 60s and even 70s if they’re in good shape. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Biking down the mountain was incredible! Clay and Crystal were great bike guides. After riding the railroad to Whitehorse, they met us and brought us to the mountain summit where we learned about the bikes and then proceeded down the mountain on our scenic and exciting 15 mile ride. Super outdoor cycling fun A flat easy ride but we kept up a fun pace and our guides Trace and Michael were excellent! They shared a lot of information about Skagway and the natural surroundings, plants and trees and gave tips for additional fun things to check out in Skagway. Friendly and knowledgeable guides made this bike tour amazing! We loved the Rainforest Bike Tour with Sockeye Cycles in Skagway! Our family group of four ranged in age from 15-50 and everyone had an awesome time. Our guide was super knowledgeable of all the flora and fauna of Alaska, as well as the history of the region! I did not expect to learn so much on a bike tour, so that was really neat. There were frequent stops on the tour for photos and to take in the incredible views. Rent an eBike in Skagway for the day! Sockeye rentals makes it so easy We rented the e-bikes for a full day in Skagway and had the best time riding around town, partially up the Klondike Highway and over to Deya Valley. It was the best way to see skagway, and the folks at sockeye made it so easy. They had the bikes all ready for us and were great at giving helpful tips.
