Jared B2024-10-16Verified Highly Recommend a Bike Ride with Sockeye Bicycle Co.! We really enjoyed our bike ride with Clay as our guide (we had a small group so it wasn't necessary to have two guides). Clay was great! He explained the rules, safety precautions, and he always forewarned us about the next portion of our ride as to what we should expect about the roadway. The stops along the way were nice and scenic, and Clay was able to tell us all about the various sites. The company was good in that they provided not only a helmet, but also gloves and water; and also a back up van (including having extra bicycles in case of bicycle problems). The only downside, perhaps, is that the Cruise ship reservations get priority for the excursions ...but the reservations through the cruise ships also cost a bit more. However, they have a few different excursion times to choose from, so it’s likely you’ll still be able to get into one of the tours of the day. Be sure to bring your passport! Eric S2024-09-18Verified Beautiful scenery, friendly staff, and a train! This was my favorite activity we did all vacation. The staff are very helpful and friendly. After they give you a ride to the narrow gauge train, you get to see so many beautiful sites in comfort. After getting to the top, prepare for a roller coaster, downhill ride. Don’t worry you get to stop in many scenic locations and the staff make sure you are comfortable riding. Five out of five, would love to go cycling here again. joy h2024-09-12Verified Informative combined with fun and professionalism If you want something other than your standard tourist tour this is it. We chose to do this for exactly that reason. The train ride to White Pass was just the start- scenic and a real insight into the area. The downhill ride was exhilarating. Our tour guide Julian was a wealth of information and so friendly. Also very alert to safety first. Maybe not for the faint hearted but at the ages of 66 and 75 we thoroughly enjoyed it. NH_travelers_1302024-09-09Verified Fun bike ride! We did the Klondike Bicycle Tour with Anthony this morning. It was great fun. Anthony is very safety conscious, told some great stores about local history, and was generally a lot of fun. Also should send a shout out to bus driver Justin - he did a great job briefing us on the bikes. We highly recommend this trip! Lauren A2024-09-04Verified If coming on a cruise, book directly through Sockeye! We never got to actually do our bike tour, so I can't comment on the bikes or the tour itself, but I did want to write a quick review for anyone who is coming in on a cruise ship and worried about booking directly with Sockeye Cycle. Our cruise ship was unable to dock in Skagway due to high winds, and I was really worried about getting our money back for our bike tour, since we booked directly with Sockeye Cycle and not through our cruise ship. Before I even contacted Sockeye Cycle, they refunded the money because they knew we were on the ship and it didn't make it to port. I appreciate this so, so much, and I would highly recommend anyone coming in on a cruise to book directly with them. Linda2024-09-03Verified Amazing Train Ride/Biking Combo Adventure What an amazing experience! We took the train up to the Whitepass Summit then biked downhill 3200’ to Skagway! Excellent guides and bikes and they even provided rain gear when it started to rain 🙏 I would highly recommend this excursion for anyone looking for an exciting adventure from beautiful Skagway! Wally P2024-08-24Verified Klondike bike ride. AWESOME. Amazing ride down hill from 3200 feet in historic White Pass. Bike was safe/excellent. Staff-kind/fun/professional Keven S2024-08-21Verified Great excursion We had a great time cycling with Julien. He had exceptional knowledge about the areas history and did a great job explaining the ecological changes the area was going through. fitlady2024-08-21Verified Enjoyable and Informative bike ride! My husband and I booked this excursion as part of our cruise. This was my favorite of our entire trip. Our guides Anthony and Julian were extremely informative and knowledgeable about the area. We had a beautiful ride through Dyea and learned the history of the indigenous people. A must do! Susan M2024-08-20Verified Awesome tour! Very fun, beautiful, and interesting. The train ride was so gorgeous and we learned about a lot of fascinating history. Water bottles and an informational booklet were provided on board. For the biking portion, our guides Tristan, Anthony, and Jed were excellent, informative, easy to understand, entertaining, friendly, attentive to safety, and very helpful. They provided gloves, protective/warm pants, jackets, helmets, and full water bottles that fit snugly in the bottle holders. We made frequent stops on the way down to take pictures and hear stories. There was only one area that we had to go a little uphill, and the rest of the ride was downhill until we got to town. Loved it!Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
