Chilkat E-Bike Adventure

We depart the bike shop and ride up the hill into the historic Fort Seward. After exploring and discussing the history, we ride down to the mud flats of the Chilkat Valley. Here you can enjoy a walk to along the shore and experience the serenity of the glacial valley breeze. You may witness bald eagles, coastal brown bears and even marine mammals fishing for salmon.

We ride back to town through a rainforest neighborhood where locals have built their own unique homesteads. Before heading back to the shop, we’ll stop at a view point across the harbor where you can see the town and the Cathedral Mountains towering above.

Trip Highlights:

• Enjoy an intimate touring environment in one of the quietest areas of Haines.
• Bike along the mud flats and enjoy a short stroll along the shore.
• Ride a pedal assisted e-bike along a low traffic road – pedaling 7 total miles.

Restrictions and Notes: Participants must be at least 16 years old and 4’ 6” in height. Participants must be confident riding a bicycle with handbrakes. Helmets are required and provided, a waiver is also required to be signed. Sport shoes and layered clothing are recommended. Tour takes place on a road shared with vehicles. Tour operates in most weather conditions; rain jacket, pants, and fleece gloves are provided if necessary.

If booking directly through our website, the meeting location for this tour is at our bike shop located at 24 Portage St, Haines, AK. We are about a 5 minute walk from the cruise docks. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time.
