Haines Rental Route: Bike to Mud Bay & Letnikof Cove

Enjoy the quiet side of town as you ride along the Chilkat Inlet.

This ride will take you on a back road through one of the most stunning neighborhoods in Haines. From the shop, bike uphill towards Fort Seward and take a few moments to read the informative signs placed at various buildings. Once past the Fort, merge left onto Mud Bay Road and keep right to stay on Mud Bay Road. The hill will descend on a winding road with the mountain tops peaking out above. At the bottom of the hill, you will see where the Chilkat River spills into the saltwater inlet. Ride along the road and take in views of Rainbow Glacier all the way to Letnikof Cove. Keep an eye out for the natural spring on the way!

Restrictions and Notes: This is a suggested route while you rent a bicycle – it is not a guided tour. Waivers are required. Alaska Law requires a basic drivers license to operate an e-bike. E-bike rentals are not available for riders under 16 years old.
