Haines Rental Route: Battery Point Bike & Hike

Distance: A 10 minute bike ride to the trailhead followed by a 3.7 mile roundtrip hike (no bikes on trail)

Escape the crowds and bike down the hill towards the docks. Turn right on Beach Road and ride along the harbor into the coverage of the forested neighborhood. The road ends at the trailhead. Hike out to Battery Point and enjoy the peace and quiet of the old growth forest and smooth pebble beach. Keep an eye out for transient whale pods, bald eagles, and surf scoters!

- Enjoy the tranquil creek crossings (one without a bridge).
- Take in incredible views of the Lynn Canal.
Restrictions and Notes: NO BIKES ON TRAILHEAD. This is a suggested route while you rent a bicycle – it is not a guided tour. Waivers are required. Alaska Law requires a basic drivers license to operate an e-bike. E-bike rentals are not available for riders under 16 years old.
Paper maps are available upon pickup. Helmets are provided. Bike locks available upon request.
