2021 Travel Update

We are excited to offer this new tour in 2021!

Chilkoot Lake Electric Bicycle Tour

Depart from our shop in historic Fort Seward. Cruise past Haines harbor and along the scenic Lutak inlet on our pedal assisted Trek Verve+ 2 or Verve+ 3 E-Bikes. It feels like riding a regular bicycle but quicker and easier! Zoom along the steep sided fjord on a mostly flat paved road. At the terminus we will continue inland along the banks of the Chilkoot River. This is a prime bear spotting area as they feed on the spawning Sockeye Salmon.

We arrive at the emerald tinted Chilkoot Lake, a 3-mile long lake surrounded by glaciated mountain peaks. This is a wonderful way to combine fresh Alaskan air and mild exercise in beautiful Haines, Alaska.

Trip Highlights:

  • Enjoy an intimate touring environment with a 1:8 guide to guest ratio.
  • Visit Chilkoot State Park, a popular and scenic wildlife viewing area.
  • Enjoy the fresh air and mild exercise, pedaling 20 total miles.

Restrictions and Notes: Participants must be at least 13 years old and 4’ 6” in height. Participants must be confident riding a bicycle with handbrakes. Helmets are required and provided, a waiver is also required to be signed. Sport shoes and layered clothing are recommended. Tour takes place on a road shared with vehicles.
